McDonald’s charity arm, the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) and its flagship program Bright Minds Read (BMR) recently donated BMR toolkits for the Kariton Classrooms of the Dynamic Teen Company headed by the 2009 CNN Hero of the Year, Efren Peñaflorida. Each BMR toolkit consists of storybooks, a teacher’s lesson plan and student worksheets, teaching not only beginning reading but comprehension and critical thinking skills as well, in an easy and fun manner. These BMR toolkits will be used in Peñaflorida’s Kariton Classrooms which consist of improvised tables and chairs, basic educational materials and even a makeshift clinic- all in the mission to make education accessible to underprivileged children.
