2009 is definitely a great year for McDonald’s, for not only breaking sales records but also winning awards!

It was definitely a hot night last November 21, 2009 as the 21st Philippine Advertising Congress (PAC) drew to a close with the Araw Awards in Subic, Pampanga.

McDonald’s advertising agency, DDB Philippines, raked awards for their McDonald’s campaigns in the past 2 years. DDB won 6 Bronze for Film – Grab and Go Breakfast “Cook” and “Hold This Please”, as well as McDonald’s “First Love”; Araw Media for McDonald’s 24-Hour Delivery “Counting Sheep”, Best Use of Mixed Media for “Burger Burger, and Best Outdoor for McDonald’s Clock. The “Burger Burger” Campaign garnered 3 Silver for Single Entry – “Loyal”, Television Campaign and Integrated Campaign. DDB was also cited as a finalist for Ambient Campaign for Burger stickers, Single Entry for RMHC “Hands” TVC, Point-of-Purchase Campaign for RMHC Alphabets traymat, and Single Entry for Burger Burger “Wishlist” TVC.

The Araw Awards is a bi-annual event that recognizes the most creative – and for the first time, the most effective – advertising materials in different categories, including film, radio, print, outdoor, ambient and point of purchase, digital, direct to consumer, design, Araw craftsmanship awards and Araw media awards.

Internationally, McDonald’s was also recognized at the London International Awards, winning a Bronze - Radio for "Emily" 24 Hours Drive Thru, and at SPIKES Asia, an Asian Advertising Festival, earning a Bronze - Outdoor for McDonald's Clock.
