Voice of McDonald’s is a global singing contest exclusive to McDonald’s restaurant crew and managers as part of the company’s commitment in creating a fun and energetic workplace. With more than1.6 million employees in 118 countries working in McDonald’s restaurants, this competition has become the biggest stage to discover, recognize and reward talented singers in the McDonald’s family.
After a grueling local competition and besting hundreds of singing hopefuls all around the world, Radjie Zaragoza from McDonald’s Daraga, Albay and Chenee Capuyan from McDonald’s Damosa, Davao City are now in the running to represent not only their stores but the country in the 2010 Global Voice of McDonald’s in Orlando, Florida. Last year, the Philippines’ very own Mary Margaret Yu from McDonald’s Ilustre, Davao City won second place in this worldwide singing contest.
Both Zaragoza and Capuyan are winners of the local Voice of McDonald’s competition held last August at the Star Theatre, Pasay City. Zaragoza, won 2nd runner up while Capuyan took home top honors as the local Voice of McDonald’s champion. Now on its second leg of competition, the Voice of McDonald’s has selected 30 semi-finalists from Latin America, Europe, US/Canada, Asia Pacific and Middle East. These semifinalists are slated to compete with each other via online poll voting. Each semifinalist will upload a performance song and video to showcase their vocal prowess and talent to a worldwide audience- the top 12 who garner the most number of online votes will battle it out in the McDonald’s 2010 Worldwide Convention in Florida for the $25,000 prize and become the global Voice of McDonald’s Grand Champion.
Let us support both of our Filipino bets. Visit http://www.mcdonalds.com/voice to watch awesome performances by McDonald’s crew and managers and to vote for our very own Radjie and Chenee. Online poll voting will run for only 3 weeks starting November 11, 2009. Once again, it’s time for the Filipino heart and talent to shine all over the world.
